TPS62824A: Inductor selection for forced-PWM operation

Part Number: TPS62824A

Hello,

I am designing a Buck for PoL appliation, using the TPS64824A, and with the following parameters :

- Input voltage : 3V -> 5V

- Output : 1V, 1.2A max

- I want to use a forced-PWM mode configuration to get a low voltage ripple.

The inductor selection chapter is only giving a 470nH typical value for all applications, without any consideration of the PWM mode, and design parameters. According to the datasheet, the frequency is quasi-fixed at 2.2MHz in forced-PWM mode. Using generic Buck equations with all these parameters, I get a nominal inductor value close to 1µH.

Would you recommend to follow the datasheet values, or to adapt the typical design to usecase parameters ?

Thanks;

Hugo
