BQ76952: Charging and discharge problem

Part Number: BQ76952

Hi team,

In the process of using 100A charging and discharge, charging 100A to full power, stopping 100A for 30 seconds, found that there was a discharge MOS smoke, and it burst. However, the discharge MOS does not have a short circuit, but the charging MOS test is short -circuit. MOS charging and MOS discharge each with 15. It should be able to support nearly 200A current. May I know is the MOS opened too slowly?  How to adjust the circuit?

Best regars,

Annie Liu

  • Hello Annie,

There can be many reasons for MOSFET failure. Can the customer send their schematic for review?

If the turn-off was too slow, that can potentially cause failure. Decreasing the pin resistance can make the turn-off faster.
