Hi,

I'm considering using the #-Q1 (HSOIC (DDA) package) in our next design.

Since the spec is preliminary, I would like to know if I could rely on the following values:

1. Is I_HB expected to change from: 100uA max 65uA typical during no switching state?

2. Will HS keep the -18V 100uS negative surge ratings?

I see that the spec states both -(24V-VDD) and -18V - Can you please elaborate?

    Hi Yair,

    Thanks for reaching out to us. Ihb spec in Electrical Characteristic table is across process and temperature corners. The 65uA spec is expected to be at 25C for nominal process point. It is possible to see maximum of 100uA at some process corner and at high operating temperatures.

    The equation in the abs max table holds true. In other words, if the VDD is 12V then maximum negative voltage allowed on HS node is only 24V-12V=12V.

    We should be able to keep both of these specifications but as you mentioned, this is a preliminary datasheet and final datasheet may differ from the preliminary datasheet.

    Regarding the negative HS voltage. The spec states -18V as one of the key features:

    1. Can you please explain the scenario where this is true?

    2. Compared to UCC27201A which also states -18V on HS which driver is more robust  for negative HS surges?

    Hi Yair,

    For UCC27301A-Q1, the HS can go to -18V if the VDD would be 6V (steady-state or transient). UCC27301A-Q1 datasheet is a preliminary one. I can check with our internal team to see if we are planning to keep both the equation as well well as absolute value in the datasheet or not.

    For UCC27201A-Q1, the HS negative voltage has no VDD dependency (according to datasheet).

    I believe both the devices have similar HS negative voltage handling capability.
