Is TPS65994AD compatible with PI3DPX1207C(redriver IC) directly though I2C3m?

I use AMD platform.

I found AMD's reference design apply ps8830 controlled by TPS65994AD's I2C3m.

I wounder if TPS65994AD can do the same on PI3DPX1207C as topology shown below?

Hi,

I would not recommend using TPS65994AD for any new design.

What is the reference design you are following? What is the end product?

It's a laptop.

And I refer to the AMD FP7 CRB (105-D59700-00A) which applied TPS65994AD + PS8830.

Hi,

If you are looking to pass compliance and utilize DP2.x and USB4 you cannot use TPS65994AD.

Oh, I didn't describe it clearly.

We only need to meet USB3 gen2 and DP 1.4.

And actually we only need one port.

Hi,

Thanks for the information, but if customer is still looking to pass PD3.1 compliance they cannot use TPS65994AD since it was only certified for PD3.0.
