TPS25750: Could you please help to explain the value of PORT_CONTROL REG[0x29]?

We are using TPS25750.

Version is F509.05.61.

Json is attached 7041.tps25750_7.0.4.6.json.zip

Now my question is sometime the value of REG[0x29] are different.

I found that most of REG[0x29] bits are reserved, so could you help to check these two dumps, are they OK?

Hello,

What is happening that the Port Control register is changing? Can you provide more context of the two register dumps? If you are writing to the register via I2C, then please provide a capture of the I2C communication.

I don't know, we just found these different between different devices.

We are using TPS25750+BQ25792, I didn't change TPS25750's registers, but change BQ25792's register through 'I2Cw' commands.

Could you help to check the REG[0x29]'s values if there are some important influences?

The values in the 0x29 should not change. Please confirm there are no errant writes to the PD controller with the I2Cw commands.

I2Cw command is used to change BQ25792's register, we follow the TP25750's Technical Reference Manual to do this. So I don't think TPS25750's register is changed by it.

Can you determine which one is correct?

TPS_REG[0x29] = 0xc95032

TPS_REG[0x29] = 0x3805052

Hello,

Both are correct. The difference is related to the 0x40 register. In one case the PD is configured as SINK only while in the other the configuration is Source/Sink.
