How to create a -10kV/1W output for ionizer or anion

Hi TI,

I need to design a power circuit for car ionizer, please refer to the spec. below:

Input: 9~16V

Output: -10kV, 1W

I can find the ionizer block diagram from TI website. Does anyone have experience for this? What kind of IC or topology should I use to design the power stage?

  • Hi Sky,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question!

I found this datasheet from XP Power with this block diagram that might be useful:

I will find the expert for this topic who will get back to you with details on what ICs we have in our portfolio that match this application and to further help you with your questions.

    Thank you for your patience!

    Regards,

    Hiroki

  • Hey Sky,

In reference to the block diagram that Hiroki shared, we do not currently have a complete solution but for the inverter block that he has shown we may have a DC-DC boost converter solution that could work here.

Here is a reference design that may be of interest for this: TIDA-020013

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you,

    William Moore
