Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510

Here is the log file

Please help me identify the chemistry of the battery pack. "Mathcad is returning unknown variable".

I am using Bq27510 as fuel guage in a multicell configurtation. 3 cell batteries in series. Please help me identify the actual chemistry for the battery.

Please help

  • Hello Rakesh,

It appears that the log file that you have provided is for the 3 cells together.  So, for the best accuracy you need to run a discharge on a single cell and collect that data to use with the Mathcad tool.  You can then use the chemID found with that cell for the configuration you will be using.  Are these cells ~6500 mAh each?  Do you have information on the cells from the manufacturer?  Thank you.

  • No I have no information on the cell chemistry . I am using a battery pack with 11.1V (3 cells in series.) I have no access to individual battery.

Does the chemistry selection depend on battery capacity i mean does the discharge curve pattern depend on battery capacity . In my previous project i was using a chemistry ID of 2200mAh battery for my 1500mAh battery.

Pleas help me identify the chamistry ID fusing which the golden image needs to be produced.

    Regards

    Rakesh M
