Dear;

I'd like to make parallel operation more than two DC-DC converter.

I will use 28950 for this work.

Can anybody explain the function of SYNC pin of UCC28950 ?

How many conveter can be sycronized?

    Hi Rho,

    The sync function is to make two or more converters with their switching frequency synchronized. If your question is on this, it looks two or more converters frequency can be synchronized ok while each converter may not have its pulse phase interleaved.

    But if your question is on the output parallel to make load sharing, then it is different. In this case, UCC39002 can be your option for converter output parallel load sharing.

    I want to make a DC-DC convter with power more than 10 kilowatts.

    Ucc39002 can be applicated with ucc38950?

    What do you think how many ucc28950 can be paralleled with interleaving method?

    Is it depends on interleaving frequency?  If not use interleaving method, what is best choice to make high power with parallel operation?

    UCC28950 can be used in master and slave, which making two phase interleaved on the input. But there is no load current sharing mechanism embedded. So UCC39002 would be an acceptable solution for the load sharing. If a precise load sharing is not needed, you can also use droop technique, if converters can be tuned individually to meet your targeted load sharing ratio.
