My EVM on't charge my two Li-Ion batteries. I beleive I meet all the conditions:

• CHGEN is LOW

      Yes     

• PVCC > UVLO

      14.8VDC          

• Adapter is detected

      ACGOOD is low

      ACDET is 3.0VDC     

• Adapter voltage is higher than BAT + 185 mV

      14.8VDC     

• Adapter is not over voltage (ACOV)

      Is there a test point to measure this?     

• 700 ms delay is complete after the adapter is detected plus 10 ms ACOC time     

• Thermal Shut (TSHUT) is not valid

      Is there a test point to measure this?

• TS is within the temperature qualification window

      1.8V 

• VDAC > 2.4 V

      3.6

Any ideas why my batteries are not being charged? Also what is the difference between BQ24750A and BQ24753? Thanks, and Best Regards,

    Hi,

     

    The main differences is on the Temperature monitoring (bq24753 does not have one) and the OVP protection (bq24753 is programmable). Please read the application Note (SLUA498) for more details about the differences between bq24750A and bq24753.

     

    Did you follow the test procedure of the EVM in the EVM user’s Guide (SLUU283D) to make sure that the EVM works?
