TPS2121: Inquiry about Source Selection IC with 6A Capacity.

Part Number: TPS2121

Hello,

We are currently in the process of selecting a suitable Source Selection IC for our project, and we came across the TPS2121RUXR. However, after reviewing its specifications, we observed that it has a current capacity of 4.5A, which falls short of our project's requirement of 6A.

Considering this, we are reaching out to inquire if you could recommend an alternative Source Selection IC with a current capacity of at least 6A. Your expertise in this matter would be greatly appreciated. We are particularly interested in products that meet our specifications and are readily available.

We look forward to hearing from you soon and appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

  • Hi Abhishek,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. I'd like to note that two TPS2121s can be paralleled to increase the current limit, with some nuances to keep in mind while designing.

Otherwise, we have no single ICs that can do this - however, we have quite a few solutions in which two devices (load switches, ideal diodes, or eFuses) can be put in parallel to have the behavior of a power mux/source selection IC.

What voltage range will your inputs be?

    Thanks,

    Patrick
