BQEasy SW des not detect EV2300

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400, BQEVSW

I just installed the BQEasy software for bq20z75 chip set.  When I run the app, I get "The EV2300 connection could not be initiated! Please close program and try again".

I have the ev2300 connected to a battery.  I assume when I installed the bqEasy software that the ev2300 drivers where installed.  Please help

  • Brian,

The EVSW installation does also install the EV2300 drivers for 32-bit Windows.  Each time you plug the EV2300 into a new USB port you will need to go through the "Found New Hardware" wizard TWICE.  Then you can start EVSW.

Now if you are using 64-bit Windows you have two options:

    a) get the new EV2400

    b) use these unsupported 64-bit drivers for EV2300: http://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/battery_management/m/videos__files/458983.aspx

  • Brian,

Also sometimes a previous instance of EVSW may not have shutdown properly. You can see the task manager processes. If you don't have any bqEVSW open, but have a bqEVSW.exe process in Task Manager - close that.

At any point of time only one EVSW can access one USB port - so if you have multiple EVSW's open but just one EV2300 connected, close all EVSW's and open just one.

  • dMax,

I had installed the windows 7 64 drivers,  the bq evaluation software and plugged the EV2300 to USB port.

Every time I open the bqEVSW it returns the same message: "The EV2300 could not be initiated! Please close this program and try again."

Seems to me that the EV2300 is not comunnicating with the PC.

Can you help me with this problem?

    Thanks,

    Diogo Lima

  • I'm sorry for the trouble.  If you cannot get the unofficial EV2300 drivers to work on your system, then you might need to try the EV2400 which doesn't require any driver installation and is officially supported on Win7 64-bit.

As a last effort, try to plug the EV2300 into a different USB port, and wait about a minute to make sure the drivers load before you try to start EVSW.

  • I have problem running driver installation for both Win8 and Win7 version, what can I do?
