LP2987: leave pin 2 (DELAY) floating

Part Number: LP2987
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP2989

LP2989AILD-3.3/NOPB is EOL.
I'm looking to use LP2987ILD-3.3/NOPB to replace LP2989AILD-3.3/NOPB. Output current 200 mA is enough in my design.

As the pin 2 has no connection on my current design, is it OK to use LP2987 and leave its pin 2 (DELAY) floating?
What's the lifecycle of LP2987ILD-3.3/NOPB?

  • Hi Kai,

Let me look into this and get you a response early next week. I'll look into both pin 2 connection and lifecycle, and I'll see if there's any other modern device with similar functionality that would be a good fit.

    Regards,

    Kelsey

  • Hi Kai,

Thanks for your patience on my reply. LP2987 will still work with pin 2 floating, but for the sake of longevity, I highly recommend moving to a new device. TPS7A2533DRVR has both enable and power good as well as similar/improved specs, but it is in a different package than LP2987 and LP2989.

    Regards,
