TPS7B7702-Q1: Inquire about the output status of each channel in protection mode

Part Number: TPS7B7702-Q1

Hello~

I have a few questions regarding the use of the TPS7B7702-Q1 device.

1. The output is disabled in the failure mode indicated in red in the picture below. In this case, are the outputs of both channels disabled?

2. what does “LATCHED” in the fault table mean?

3. Do all functions (including failure modes) operate normally even when the current used is 1~9mA?

  • Hi Junehee,

    1. Only the channel with the fault is disabled. The exception is thermal shutdown, where both channels are disabled to limit power dissipation.
    2. Latched means that the output will not recover when the fault (e.g. short-to-battery or reverse voltage) is removed, and only recovers when the EN pin is toggled.
    3. Yes. However, the VSENSE accuracy gets increasingly poor with lighter loads.

    Regards,

    Nick
