TPS63700: Suspected use of temperature corners situation

Part Number: TPS63700

Hi Tier

My customer use TPS63700DRCT in low temperature (-3 °C).

When output from 0mA directly to 300mA~400mA, the chip will no output which like protect.

When the temperature rises, the chip will not automatically recover within 10 minutes.

So Have we encountered similar problems before? How to solve.

Thank you very much.

  • Hi Yuxi,

May I know what is the customer and application here? What is the input and output condition for this?

    BRs,

    Bryce

  • Hi Bryce

    Customer meet this fault again.

The application is ultrasound. The sch is show below.

    input 5.0V, output -5.6V.

If this chip work near 0 °C temperature. and give a 300mA load current. The output will go down to zero.

I found the comp cap is 3300pF. We recommend 4700pF in Datasheet. Is this a risk? please review the sch.

    Thank you very much.

By the way , It seems like we dont have SPICE file let customer do some simulation? Right?

  • Hi Yuxi,

    1. Yes, we don't have the SPICE file for TPS63700.

    2. If move the board from Ta=0C to Ta=25C, will this device recover operation?

    3. What about decrease the loading for example 250mA, will the output still go down to zero?

    4. Can you show the waveforms of output voltage, SW, iL at the same page during  the load transient?

    5. Can you help trigger Vout falling edge and probe the Vout, SW, iL at Ta=0C when the Vout is going down to zero?

    BRs,

    Bryce
