UC3907DW part obsolescence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC2907, UCC29002

Recently while checking the component EOL, the item UC3907DW product status shows last time buy from TI website

Could you confirm the part status for next 5 years?

If not available, can we use UC2907DW as an alternate to existing one. it shows active. Also please confirm the difference between both parts

I feel the difference is only the temperature? Please confirm

  • Hello Ajesh,

Thank you for your question on UC3907DW availability.

The UC3907DW is in fact in End-of-Life status, and will no longer be available after about 1 year from now.

The UC2907DW is a suitable pin-for-pin replacement and will be active for at least another 10 years.
As you discerned, the only difference between the two parts is the operating temperature range.  Parameters for UC2907DW are guaranteed over -40C to +85C temperature range (compared to the much narrower range of 0C to 70C for the UC3907DW).

As a side note, the PDIP-package version of the UC2907 is also in EOL status.  Please use the DW package only for EOL replacement.
I suggest the UCC29002 for any new load-sharing applications.

    Regards,

    Ulrich
