TPS22990: Vin present before Vbias

Hi TI Support,

I have an application in which I switch a 1V8 rail with the TPS22990. I have connected a 3V3 power supply to the Vbias pin, but the 1V8 (VIN) will be present (just) before the 3V3 (VBIAS) rail is present.

Do you thinkt that this can cause issues?

    Hi Guido,

    Welcome to e2e!

    With TPS22990, I recommend that you only connect VIN once VBIAS is connected, as having VIN > VBIAS will make the device operate outside of its recommended operating conditions and may affect the long-term device reliability.

    I recommend that you use TPS22997, our next-generation version of TPS22990 - in addition to having better specifications it can operate with VIN > VBIAS with no issues.

    Thanks for your fast answer! I have patched the board for VBIAS > VIN at all times and I will consider using the TPS22997.
