TPS548A20: Thermal Models for ANSYS ICEPAK

Hello,

My team and I are working on a thermal analysis for our design using ANSYS ICEPAK and I am having a hard time finding thermal models TPS548A20. Currently we are using the thermal resistance values of the ICs from the datasheet and are creating 2-resistor thermal models. However, we know the thermal resistances on the datasheets are specific to the JEDEC standard and they are likely not applicable in our application and for use in our simulation. Therefore, I am wondering if you might have any thermal models, we can use for ANSYS ICEPAK, or even the Compact Thermal Model or 2-resistor thermal model.

Hello Russell,

Unfertunalty we do not have this thermal model other what we have in the datasheet.

do you have a board built already? because you can estimate the thermal resistance thru simple bench measurement and use those instead of the datasheet values

Hi Tahar,

There wouldn't be much point in doing a simulation if we already had our boards built. The idea is to perform a thermal simulation of the PCB before it is built; to ensure we can dissipate the heat properly through the PCB stackup and heat sink design. Would you have the ability to create such a model? I think we even might be able to use Compact Thermal Models with ANSYS ICEPAK.
