Hi Sir,

My customer is asking the TPS1663 if it can pass the ISO7637-2 Pulse 5b Load Dump test?

    TPS1663 can handle transients voltages up to 67V so, it can support load dump events on 24V rail.

    What is the application and end product ?

    Yes, it is acceptable to use a non AEC-Q100 qualified device.

    They also considered the TPS2663, is it available to use in the same condition?

    What are the differences between TPS1663 and TPS2663 both devices? Does it refer to the different parameters shown in the comparison table?

    Why did the TPS2663x develop two current limiting types of devices for 1x IOL and 2x IOL? Is it just for the pulse current support function on 2x IOL devices? what are the design requirements for the 2x IOL devices, if the customer needs to consider using them?

    The major difference is TPS2663 has B_GATE pin to drive external blocking FET to support reverse current and reverse voltage protection which are essential for surge protection. Rest all parameters are same 

    Why did the TPS2663x develop two current limiting types of devices for 1x IOL and 2x IOL? Is it just for the pulse current support function on 2x IOL devices? what are the design requirements for the 2x IOL devices, if the customer needs to consider using them?

    We see some loads need higher pulsed current support in steady state to address their transient needs. Customer can decide based on the current profile of their load.
