TPS61196EVM-600: Creepage distance on the demo board

Hi David,

The EVM was designed based on 60V output, let me check with our EVM design files for more details. May I know what is your maximum output voltage required?

Thank you for your prompt reply, the Max voltage is 80V in our design. because voltage over 24V may need some minimum creepage distance on the board. I hope TI has expert can give suggestions or links to make calculations or estimate.

The creepage distance between 60V trace and GND is 25.5mil. I am searching for the layout guide, still need some time.

I assume this 25.5mil is bare copper creepage distance, right? if the copper is covered by solder mask, will the creepage distance be ignored as a risk factor.

This distance is not for bare copper, the copper has been covered by solder mask. And this data was measured with real EVM file.

If the 25.5 mil is the covered copper, then on the back side of the demo board.  on the left edge of the picture. the square pad and the one under it is the high voltage output, assume 60V here. the voltage to next pin will be 60V.  the metal is exposed from 60V to return pass.  

seems to me the distance is not far in between. this does not bother me; all I need is that my design will be able to pass the safety inspection of the TUV.

Understood, I am trying to search if a document that will guide the layout. BTW, do you have some detailed information of how the TUV is applied?
