Hi All,

We are having an issue with moving from the BQ40Z50-R1 to the BQ40Z50-R2, the issue is not seen when using the BQ40Z50-R1 in the battery pack. This is supposed to be a pin for pin and direct replacement

The multi type charger needs SMBus communication with the Battery pack to identify which type it is, there is no communication with the R2 version and therefore will not charge. The SMBus is not active at all.

The charger uses a BQ24725A

    Hello,

    Have you done a 1 to 1 comparison between the two settings? Have you checked if they share the same memory mapping? Sometimes memory mapping can change between FW upgrades.

    This can easily be done using BQStudio.
