UCC28950: Outputs OUTA and OUTB to drive the active leg and outputs OUTC and OUTD to drive the passive leg

Part Number: UCC28950

I just asked you a question and sent it in Japanese. I am very sorry.
I will ask the question again in English.

  1. What is the definition of outputs OUTA and OUTB to drive the active leg and outputs OUTC and OUTD to drive the passive leg?

  1. Do outputs OUTA and OUTB signal output before outputs OUTC and OUTD?

  1. In the attached schematic, should the active leg be (Q001,Q002)? Or should it be (Q003,Q004)?

  1. In the attached schematic, should I connect OUTA to Q001 or OUTC to Q001?

  • Hello,

Your inquiry is under review and I will get back to you shortly.

  • Hello,

    Please see my comments below.

    1. What is the definition of outputs OUTA and OUTB to drive the active leg and outputs OUTC and OUTD to drive the passive leg?

    > Out A and Out B are 180 degrees out of phase from each other and synchronized to a master clock.

    > Out C and Out D are 180 degrees out of phase shifted from each other.

    > Out C and D are phase shifted to control duty cycle

    > When A and D are on at the same time there is voltage applied the transformer and energy is delivered primary to secondary.

When B and C are on at the the time there is voltage applied the transformer and energy is delivered primary to secondary.

    >When C and D are phase shifted 180 degrees from the master clock the design has 100% duty cycle.

    >When C and D are in phase with the master clock the design has 0% duty cycle.

    >To control duty cycle from 100% to 0% requires phase shifting outputs C and D.

    1. Do outputs OUTA and OUTB signal output before outputs OUTC and OUTD?

    >Please see above explanation.

    1. In the attached schematic, should the active leg be (Q001,Q002)? Or should it be (Q003,Q004)?

    >The following link will bring you to an application note that goes through the step by step design process of using the UCC28950 in a phase shifted full bridge.  There is a schematic inside that will show you how to connect the H Bridge and SR FETs.
