TI's engineers:
I would like to know how to quickly put the battery into Sleep mode, because the current production line tests the power consumption of Sleep mode, and the waiting time is long, which is not conducive to large-scale production. Under the condition that there is no load and no security event occurs, the battery cannot be put into Sleep mode immediately through the Command of 0x0011 of TRM, I would like to ask, what should be the correct way?

  • Hello,

Please see the following image for the conditions that must be met in order to send the gauge into sleep mode via command.

In order for the gauge to activate sleep mode, the current must be less than the Sleep Current you have configured into the gauge. For testing purposes, you can temporarily increase the Sleep Current parameter in Data Memory. This should ensure that the gauge would go into sleep mode when the 0x0011 command is sent. Once your testing is complete, you can then change the Sleep Current parameter back to it's previous value.

    Regards,

    Jonny.

  • My Sleep current is set to 10mA by default in DF, and under the condition that the battery pack is not connected to any load, the communication is sent to 0x0011. As shown in the above figure, the battery pack cannot enter the Sleep mode, and the SLEEPM of operation status() does not =1, that is, after sending the instruction, The battery's not working. That's why I'm asking.

  • Hello,

Can you please provide me with the gg file from bqStudio?

    Regards,

    Jonny.

  • 6431.golden file.gg.csv

     please consult the gg File.

  • Hello,

When you send the sleep mode command, please ensure that the Auto Refresh is turned off and scanning is turned off. I do not see any issues that would prevent the gauge from going into sleep mode based off of your gg file.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
