TPS544C25: Vout Command Setting

Part Number: TPS544C25

Hello,

I am programming a TPS544C25 power supply to +3.3V by setting the Vout Command to 3.3V. The output voltage is correct after programming (writing to hardware and storing the config to NVM); however, the output voltage changes to +4.2V after a power cycle.

Any ideas on what might cause this?

Thanks in advance.

  • US team will review and give you feedback soon.

After a power cycle means "reset VDD" right? After changing to 4.2V, PGood is ok or not? you should not use VSET pin, right? you may describe how you config the Vout with 3.3V and upload schematic for review.

  • Hello Talal,

The most likely cause of the issue is that if you have a resistor connected from the VSET pin to AGND, then after a power loss, the VOUT_COMMAND value set by the external resistor overwrites any previously stored value from the previous VOUT_COMMAND operation. To restore the VOUT_COMMAND value stored in EEPROM at power up, you would need to pull the VSET pin to BP3.

    Thank you,
    Tomoya
