TPS92200D2EVM: Not able to get more than 1.1A out of EVM

Part Number: TPS92200D2EVM

Hello,

We are testing the  TPS92200D2EVM to evaluate the part for 1.5A. I changed the feedback resistor (R3 + R2) to be 0.068 ohm combined, since Vfb = 0.99V. This should set the output current to 1.5A. No other components on the eval board have been changed.

I set DIM to 3.0V continuous for testing max current.

However, I'm measuring current through the LED with a DMM and it is only 1.1A. Same whether the input voltage is 12V or 24V. LED is 2 in series of Cree XB2-E2 (datasheet) and we are only running it for about 5 seconds. Vf of both LEDs in series is (according to datasheet) 6.28V.

How do I get this to work at 1.5A?

Thanks,

Derek
