Looking for BMS chip, microcontroller and EtherCat combo.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76952, BQ76972

Hi,

I am searching for a BMS (Battery Management System) chip suitable for a 48VDC, 20Ah battery with 14 cells. Additionally, I need a microcontroller for interfacing and an EtherCAT chip for communication. Does TI (Texas Instruments) provide a solution for the mentioned combination?

thanks Pray

  • Hello Syed,

I'd recommend the BQ769x2 family of devices, like the BQ76952 (3s to 16s) or the BQ76972 (higher accuracy version of the BQ76952). This BMS AFE is able to provide multiple battery protections and features. I'd recommend to read their respective datasheets and Technical Reference Manuals for reference.

I'd recommend to open a new thread for the microcontroller team to help provide feedback about MCU's/EtherCAT specifically. The C2000 for example seems like is capable of EtherCAT, but again, you should open a new thread to ask if they have any resources you could use.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions about the BMS IC Slight smile.

    Best Regards,
