TPS7B7702-Q1: I'd like to know the Min and Max values for Rsense

Part Number: TPS7B7702-Q1

Hi

I'd like to know the Min and Max values for Rsense.

The output current of the circuit I designed was 4 mA, so I applied Rsense as 47K.

Is there any problem?

  • Hi Junehee,

There is not a min/max value for RSENSE, so 47k is fine. However, you could get more resolution out of the SENSE output (assuming your ADC also has a high enough reference) if you used a larger SENSE resistor because with 47k the max SENSE voltage (assuming that the SENSE output has 20% accuracy at 4mA load - this is an approximation and not guaranteed) is 4mA  / 198 * 47k * 1.2 = 1.14V, and you can size the RSENSE such that the SENSE voltage ranges from 0V to something like 2V if you want to use more of the available voltage headroom.

    Regards,

    Nick
