Hello I am trying to communicate with the BQ79616EVM it requires:

Baud rate = 1 Mbps
UART RX baud rate error - requirement on the external host : -1% => 1%

I am using Micro-controller LAUNCHXL-F280039C with SYSCLK = 120MHz and LSPCLK = 30MHz.

The problem is I can not generate a baud rate within the required range from the BMS chip.

Hi Ahmed,

I am switching you to the team that owns the LAUNCHXL-F280039C as 1Mbps withe +/-1% error is the requirement of the 616.

Hi David,

What baud rate are you trying to achieve on the F28003x device? I can tell you whether it's possible to achieve within 1% of this baud rate.

If it's not possible, you also use the LIN module to perform UART communication. This has a different baud rate scheme that may fulfill your requirements.

The BQ79616 device needs 1MHz baud rate.

Hey David,

If you set your LSPCLK equal to SYSCLK, you can achieve 120 Mhz baud rate.

Thanks Luke yes with LSPCLK = 120MHZ and setting the BRR to 14 => this gonna give 1Mbps
