how can we use External watchdog PMIC TPS6594-Q1 as program flow monitoring in TDA4VM
Hello Vishal,
I know you asked last time on how to reset the WD via a warm reset. As for how to use it in your program flow, that is very highly dependent of your hardware configuration, software implementation (RTOS or Linux) etc.
I can speak for the hardware, you need to know if you have split or single power grouping on the PMIC as it is targeted towards SoC (System on Chip) which contain embedded MCU in the Processor. The idea being that if the processor has some fault, the MCU can be the fallback to negotiate the interrupts (errors) on the system.
Typically in our most popular PDN for the TPS6594 we have the MCU servicing the Watchdog on the PMIC so that the entire system goes into a reset.

Hello Vishal,
We do offer PMICs that implement a Power Distribution Network (PDN) for the TDA4VM

Hi Nicholas,
Can i get a required physical connections from PMIC (TPS6594) to TDA4VM so that we have the MCU servicing the Watchdog on the PMIC so that the entire system can be reset.
Hello Vishal,
I'll try to get you that information, but the guides to tell what pins are connected to what, but specifically what pins depends on what part you end up ordering.

Hello Nicholas,
A guides to tell what pins are connected would be really helpful.

Hi Nicholas ,
i have replied to email & i got this link https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvuc99a/slvuc99a.pdf.
I'm keen in understanding the necessary physical connections between the PMIC (TPS6594) and TDA4VM to ensure that the MCU services the Watchdog on the PMIC, & if required enabling the entire system to reset. Specifically, I'd like to know:
Hello Vishal,
That guide will tell you what general things you need to in order to connect the PMIC to the SoC.
Let me redirect you to the Jacinto TDA4VM EVM page, there you will have access to the design files which will show you the connections.
Product page for the EVM: CLICK HERE FOR EVM
Under the design files there's the link above on the product page which contains the revisions and all things necessary for the design.
Design file link: CLICK HERE FOR DESIGN FILES
That is as much as we can provide on the physical connections.

Nicholas
