Hi TI Team,
Working on a design which will have a removable battery pack. When the Battery pack is removed, the BAT and TS pins will be exposed and susceptible to ESD strikes.
Researching the TI ESD Essentials videos: Getting started with interface protection | TI.com there are a couple specifications required to select the proper TVS devices:
- Voltage range
- Clamp Voltage
- ESD pulse.
The BAT pin will have a battery 2S battery pack. The working voltage range will be below 9V
The TS pin Circuit will have a working voltage < 5V.
The ESD pulse target would be IEC61000-4-2 8kv contact/15kv air. (16A)
The TI ESD essentials suggest the clamping voltage should be <= to the TLP (Transient Level Pulse?) 100nS pulse design for the chip.
Can you advise what the TLP specification is for the BAT and TS pins?
Regards,
Jim
