TPS92520-Q1: Using the chip with only one channel.

Part Number: TPS92520-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92519-Q1, TPS92643-Q1

Hello,

I would like to leave one channel left unconnected. With no SPI communications either. Is is enough to pull UDIM to ground in order to disable the output while leaving the output pins all floating?

Thanks,

Josh

  • Hello Josh,

If you aren't going to use SPI why don't you use the TPS92519-Q1?  This is the purely analog version of the TPS92520-Q1.  We also have the TPS92643-Q1 that is a single channel buck LED driver that supports up to 3A and it's Vin can go up to 36V.

If you want leave one of the channels unused for either the TPS92520 or the TPS92519, then BSTx and SWx pins should be left open and VINx, CSPx, CSNx, COMPx, and UDIMx should be grounded.
