UC3845A: short circuit protection

I have query regarding short circuit protection from UC3845 or UC2845 controller. What we observed that peak current went high and did not get burst/hiccup mode operation. As per our calculation we have sense resistor .075 Ohm and then it should limit at (1V/.075= 13.33A) max current. Datasheet also does not give much details how controller protects during SC case. Even it does not say about hiccup mode. my query is why is causing to go beyond (30A) from my design current of 13A.

    Hi,

    This IC does not have SCP. You need to add external circuit to achieve this. A possible way is to detect current sense signale and at designed threshold to use a comparator to pull down COMP pin when SC occurs.
