TPS51604: TPS51604 occasionally becomes unresponsive after a power cycle

Part Number: TPS51604

We are experiencing a similar issue to what's described in the following thread:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/453327/tps51604-powerup-state

In our application TPS51604 PWM and /SKIP pins are controlled by GPIO pins of an MCU which power up in a floating state. As a result the TPS51604 occasionally becomes unresponsive after a power cycle and cycling the power again does not always fix the problem. We are looking for a solution that does not require a hardware fix if it all possible (we are aware of your suggestion of pulling down the SW node with a high value resistor).

More specifically, in the response to the above referenced issue you state the following:

"For the driver IC TPS51604 to un-latch prior to start-up, proper input PWM sequence needs to be  supplied."

Can you elaborate on the "proper PWM sequence" that would allow us to exist the stuck condition of TIPS51604. Again, we are looking for a way to fix this issue in firmware if possible.

Thanks!

Alex
