LMR33610: LMR33610 short occurs when power is applied

Dear.

Applying 10 V of power causes the bench power supply to CC, and after a short time, the LMR33610 High FET is broken.

When I measured the resistance with a multimeter, it measured as if it was shorted. Please review the circuit diagram I designed to see if there is a problem.

Attached is the schematic and PCB pattern for your review.

Hi Sir,

It is difficult to know what the cause of the failure is just by description.

But your schematic have some improvement:

1. Add 0.1uF as CIN

2.Replace C45+C44 with 4.7uF

3.It is better to add E-cap（47uF) as Cin

Dear Colin

I changed the input stage capacitor to 4.7uF +220nF as shown in the reference schematic in the datasheet and debugged it, but couldn't find the problem.

I also tried removing the input EMI circuit as I thought it might have a bad effect, but I couldn't find the cause.

I have designed with many PWM ICs and this has rarely happened.

Hi Sir,

Sorry to hear that, from your schematic I don't see obviously reason which lead to this problem.

Maybe you can be more careful about welding.
