The change to the I2C address will not take effect until the SWAP_COMM_MODE subcommand is sent to the device. The address can also be permanently changed by writing it to the OTP and resetting the device.

The typical order is: Set Config Update > Change I2C Address > Exit Config Update > Swap Comm Mode.

after Sending the  Swap comm mode ,  are we able to use previous address ?

Followed the Set Config Update > Change I2C Address > Exit Config Update > Swap Comm Mode. these steps and yet receiving the Acknowledgement on the previous address. Changed address is giving NACK.

Hi Swati,

Could you try capturing the communications on a logic analyzer?

You may also want to try reading back the I2C address register after exiting Config Update to see if the write was successful.

Now the I2C Address is changing , but receiving the Acknowledgement on both the I2C Address.

Hi Swati,

Is the other bq76952 connected and acking the other address?

Note that resetting the AFE will reset the I2C address back to the default value.
