We are using LLC half bridge topology for designing a DC DC converter from 400V to 220V dc using UCC256303.

The power level is 2 kW for my purpose.

1) Whether it is suitable with halfbridge topology? Since Iam not seen any reference designs above 1 kW with LLC half bridge topology.

2) My output voltage is 220Vdc. Is this possible with LLC circuits? Since Iam not seen any design examples or calculators supporting dc dc outputs above 90Vdc. 

If possible can you suggest any reference design for this. Iam more concerned about the output feedback portion.

    Hi Ijas,

    The reason we don't have many reference designs above 1kW with our half-bridge LLC is that this is around the threshold where a full-bridge approach makes more sense. Normally for 2kW, we would recommend our Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge the UCC28950. While the output voltage is lower than your target here is a 1.6kW reference design which might be a good starting point: PMP6712.

    If you prefer to stick with an LLC, our newer UCC25660 might be an easier solution to design with.
