TPS92624-Q1: How to handle unused pins

Part Number: TPS92624-Q1

Hi,

Please answer our customer's questions.

1. Whether PWMx is processed when OUTPUT DIMMING (PWM) is not used

- Do I have to use it above PWMx threshold voltage? Can I connect to Floating or GND?

2. Integrated output 4CH for 1 OUTPUT

- Can I use only 1 R_RESx & C_OUTx?

- Can't I use only one R_SNSx?

3. Whether some output CH is processed when not in use

 - RESx 및 OUTx : Floating

 - INx : VCC+

 - PWMx : GND

4. Should I connect to GND if FAULT is not in use?

  • Hi CHO,

    1. If the OUTPUT dimming is not required, does it mean that a constant current would be generated at this OUTPUT? if yes, please connect this PWMx to SUPPLY via a pull-up resistor; if not, does that mean this OUTPUT is not being used? If this OUTPUT is not used, please connect the PWMx to GND.

    2. Yes, you can parallel 4 output channels for higher output current.

No, we don't recommend that you only used 1 x R_RESx, for each channel, please add RES resistors; for Cout, that would be okay, but please leave some capacitor position near the OUTPUT.

No, you can't use only one R_SNSx. For each channel, even the OUTPUTx is not used, the INx should be connected to SUPPLY via the R_SNSx.

    3. Yes.

    RESx and OUTx: Floating.

    INx: Vsupply via the R_SNS.

    PWMx: GND.

4.No, if the Fault is not in use, I'd like to recommend you that keep the connection method on the datasheet-connect FAULT pin to SUPPLY via a 20k resistor.

    BR,

    Hailee.
