I'm using the bq24071 to charge a lithium battery with 4000 mAh of capacity, the power source comes from a solar panel which has a working voltage of 4.8V and a working current of 560 mA. I'm using AC Mode and The V(DPMM-REG) is set to 4.5V , I have also disabled the safety timer and termination. The load has a periodic consumption of 70mA during 1s and 3mA during 4s. Twice a day a dcdc is activated to rise the output to 17V for 1s. The system has worked well for over a month, but now it doesn´t charge the battery, STAT1 and STAT2 are OFF. This problem has appeared in 2 out of 20 devices that have been working during the same amount of time.
What can be happening to the IC?
