BQ25756: BQ25756

Part Number: BQ25756

Hello,
I am designing with BQ25756. RRVT series is used in the EVM document, but I have no information about what the RRVT series is. The one I use is the RRVR series. There is a MODE pin in the RRVT series, but there is no MODE pin in the RRVR series. Can you help me on this issue? What is the difference between these two series?

  • Hi Umut,

The T and R referring to tube and reel, i.e. how the IC is packaged for shipment.  All BQ25756 have the MODE pin.  In what document does the MODE pin not appear?

    Regards,

    Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,
I am sharing with you a photo from the datasheet of BQ25756. As you can see, there is no MODE pin. There is no information about the MODE pin in the Pin Functions table under this section. When I look at the EVM's user manual, the 17th pin is the MODE pin, while in the BQ25756's datasheet, the 17th pin is PGND.

  • Hi Umut,

BQ25756 does not have MODE feature.  PIN 17 should be grounded per datasheet.  I will put in EVM change request.

    Regards,
    Jeff

  • Thanks for your answer Jeff.

I want to ask one more question. In the EVM diagram, connections are made to NC pins. Yes, the connections are actually NC due to the DNP elements, but why are these pins shown as connected?

  • Hi Umut,

This schematic is used for different versions of this IC family. For BQ25756, NC pin must be left floating and it is since none of the components connected to ACDRV net are installed.

    Regards,

    Jeff

  • Thank you Jeff
