CSD95490Q5MC: Regarding Integrated Current and Temperature Sensing Functionality

Hello, 

1- LSET pin should be connected to a pull down resistor according to the plot in the datasheet. The part will not function if this pin is left open

2- REFIN is described in the previous forum

3- The rest of pins can be left open

Why using a smart power stage and not using its functions? There is no protection if used in this manner.

Are you using external current sense for current loop and protection?

Thank you for your response. Yes, I am implementing current sensing externally. I am interested in this device specifically because of its high continuous current rating and it just happens to be a smart power stage. Do these recommendations also apply to the CSD95485RWJ power stage ?

As a follow up question, regarding the built-in overcurrent detection feature, does it rely on integrated current sensing? Could it potentially trigger accidentally if the current sensing is improperly configured, such as by connecting REFIN to GND as mentioned in the earlier forum question?

It's not a good to ground REFIN should still be provided in the range on the DS.

The reason for this is that the current sense won't work properly which can impact the zero-cross detection.  The zero-cross detection is needed for the dead-time circuit to work properly.

IOUT can be open.

What about the overcurrent detection feature? Is there a risk of it falsely triggering if the current sensing is improperly configured, for example, by leaving the VOS pin floating as mentioned earlier?
