Hello Jose Couso,
Sorry for replying late.
Thank you for you explanation in the BQ27Z561: Fuel Gauge Reading is not Proper after completing the learning cycle thread.
To confirm, we have enabled the IT Gauging Configuration bit [SMOOTH] = 1 for achieving a smoother output.
Kindly validate if this is the correct bit that has been enabled for the purpose of smoothness. as per your input.
Now, based on your inputs and suggestions, we have obtained understanding of the following aspects.
"In order to ensure accurate capacity readings, it is essential that the fuel retains its power under any condition."
Can you please confirm if the above understanding is correct?
Now, in our board, the fuel gauge is powered through VBAT (battery). and following your suggestions, we have performed the discharge cycle without disconnecting the battery,
which means that the fuel gauge has not been reset. Furthermore, we have not noticed any percentage drop while calculating the battery capacity.
So, can we say that disconnecting the battery results in the fuel gauge reset and that is why we were observing the battery percentage drop?
Could you please validate whether the above testing aligns with your suggestions?
Thanks,
Shivani
