TPSM365R3: Output ripple

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am looking at the TPSM365R3 for an application where the input is 24V and the output is 5V@100mA.
From the datasheet I undertand that there are two modes Auto mode and FPWM mode.
(1) What mode will the part operate in and what will be the output ripple?
(2) What mode is best to achieve the lowest output ripple?

Hi Joe,

You can select either the Auto mode or FPWM mode. If you pull the mode pin high, it will be in FPWM. If you pull the mode pin low, it will be in sync.

Usually FPWM has lowest output ripple at light load, but you trade off efficiency.
