LMG2100R044: LMG2100R044RARR

Part Number: LMG2100R044

Hi,

Good day

This is Vishal Sharma from Keysight Technologies.

We are right now in process to use TEXAS INSTRUMENTS part number: XLMG2100R044RARR in our system.

Package is RAR0016A-C01 (VQFN-FCRLF - 0.85mm)

In an attached datasheet, on page 23 for Pins 5 , 6 and 7 soldermask defined (SMD) pads recommended in the given footprint.

For our more understanding or clarity, please explain the below points:

Could you please mention the specific reason to promote the use of solder mask defined  (SMD) pads on 5, 6 nd 7 ?

Is there any negative consequences if we use NSMD (non-solder mask defined) pads for pins 5,6 and 7 ?

Any potential performance degradation if we use NSMD pads for 5, 6 & 7 ?

Awaiting your response.RE_ Urgent Query Regarding Part number XLMG2100R044RARR.msg

Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Vishal,

Since pins 5, 6, & 7 are power pads we expect a large copper pour to be connected to them so we have marked them as solder mask defined (example below of the copper pour connection to pins 5, 6, 7 in our EVM). These pins can be used as NSMD as well, the label is just to take into account the polygon pour that will connect the pins. We don't expect any negative performance for using NSMD for these pins.
