TPS2151: ESD ratings

Hi,

I did not found any ratings about the ESD performance in the data sheet for TPS2151IPWP?

I checked a qualification summary also but there is only mentioned that "check the data sheet" at rows ESD-HBM and ESD-CDM.

So, my question is that does TPS2151 has ESD performance at all?

If not, then implementing an external ESD protection is tricky for TPS2151 because of 6V abs.max rating of the LDO & SW inputs and 5,5V max voltage of the VBUS defined by the USB 2.0 standard.

Can you advice that does the TPS2151 applicable for USB 2.0 (device side) power switching in the ESD point of view?

    Hi Ari,

    To be honest, this is an old part that I don't have much experience with.  I do not know of any ESD ratings for any of the pins.

    Can you help me understand the need here?  TPS2151 only touches the power pins of the USB port.  If there is an ESD event, most of the charge should be absorbed by the input caps.
