LM61480: Configuring / Using LM61480 or LM70880 as a constant current source

Part Number: LM61480
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM70880,

Hello,

I wish to develop a variable constant current source for measuring resistance of inductive windings. Current has to be adjustable from 0.5A to 10Adc with max. Vout capability of 20Vdc which will later be raised to 50Vdc.
Two short listed parts are LM61480 (for 20V) or LM70880(for 50V).

I am aware that the Vout of the DC-DC can be controlled using an additional signal into lower resistor on the FB pin either through another resistor or using a opamp in the loop. My understanding is that this scheme would essentially need an external ADC/uC monitoring the current and controlling Vout as required.

1. Is there any way to implement a CC without the external ADC/uC loop?

2. It would be preferable to operate both devices around 6A which would require having two 5-6A CC sources in parallel to provide the full 10A output. Would paralleling be possible?
Please go suggest alternate schemes for generating the 10A if parallel operation is not possible.

Best regards,
Tanmay.
