BQ25798: Entering ship mode

It seems that SHIPMODE for the BQ25798 from BQ studio does not work.

I can see Ship Mode at Reg11 = 7D, Reset = 7F, IDEL = 79 and Shutdown = 7B..

But executing 7B does nothing to the Gate drive of the Ship FET, Q1

Gate drive to Ship FET is unperturbed by SHIPMODE command

got an ACK, but gate drive is still going.

    Hi JDJ,

    The host must first write REG0x14[7]=1 to tell the charger that the shipFET is present.  Also, in battery only mode, the SDRV charge pump runs at 50% duty cycle so any resistive load < 1Gohm (like a 10Mohm scope probe) results in the pulsing waveform.
