TPS92530-Q1: Open circuit detection in standalone mode

Part Number: TPS92530-Q1

Hello team,

Greeting for the day.

I am checking when customers do not use SPI, the device will enter standalone mode, right?

And will the open circuit fault detection work in standalone mode?

Specifically, when one channel is detected open circuit, will the other two channels be closed?

Thanks.

  • Hello Daniel,

Standalone mode assume it was never communicated to the 530 and had a watch dog timer event (no SPI comms) and the POR bit was never cleared.  That usually isn't the case.  Normally you startup and initialize the device which includes setting up the Limp Home registers and clearing the POR bit.  Then if you do loose SPI communications afterwards you go into Limp Home mode.  This is a gated device so please only use the Internal Forum for questions.
