Manually removing EV2300 Driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQEVSW, EV2400

I'm having a ton of trouble getting the ev2300 working on my pc.  It is xp 32 bit.   I've tried on another pc without any problem.   One thing that I noticed on the alternate machine is that it complained about unsigned drivers during the install.  My machine did not complain - I would like to go through the install process again, however I can't figure out how to remove the driver and start over.  Simply deleting the c:\windows\TI folder does not work.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • Reinstalling the EV2300 drivers without uninstalling the previous installation is the preferred method. The unsigned driver warning message only appears if the security policy is set to warn on unsigned installation. The drivers will not install if the security policy is set to disallow unsigned driver installation.

EV2300 drivers can be uninstalled by going to device manager in Windows. Right click the "TI USB bq80xx Driver" and click on "Properties". Select the "Driver" tab and click the "Uninstall button".

Run the installer before connecting the EV2300.  The new hardware wizard will popup the next time an EV2300 is connected.

  • Thanks Shirish, I got around this problem previously by using another computer, but now I'm back on my main desktop, and have the problem is still here.  When I plug the ev2300 in, my system can't find the drivers.  I manually select the location c:\windows\ti\usb1 (or 2) and it still doesn't think that these are the right drivers.   The hardware works just fine on the windows 7 machine that I used instead of my XP 32 desktop.   Any ideas what is going on?   I can't uninstall the drivers in the way you suggest above, because the device doesn't show up in device manager as having them in the first place.

  • The EV2300 uses 2 drivers. When it is first detected it comes up as a TUSB3210. The first driver will  program it to become a EV2300.

It is possible that there is a clash with some other device using the TUSB3210. We have seen reports from a lot of people that EV2300 stopped working after upgrading to Service Pack 3.

For some it was an issue with permissions. Make sure system policy allows installation of unsigned drivers and when prompted allow the installation of unsigned drivers. You may have to log in as administrator do do this.

For others this problem was solved by reinstalling Windows XP. It is still unresolved for people who chose not to reinstall.

We understand that most people (including inside TI) do not want to go through a reinstall. An alternative is to use the EV2400 which is the next generation of EV2300. It has been tested with bq Evaluation Software(bqEVSW) and should work with all other software that was developed using the EV2300.

EV2400 has a unique USB ID and uses HID. It uses inbuilt Windows OS drivers.
