TPSM365R6: TPSM365R6FRDN

Part Number: TPSM365R6

Hi,

I'm using a TPSM365R6FRDN in my project to convert 54V to 5V with a 150mA load on the output side (5V).

I designed it and tested and the output voltage is 5V and everything seems fine. The only problem is that the temperature is too high and around 85C.

I'm wondering if anyone can check this design and guide me on how I can solve the temperature rise issue.

Thanks

  • Hi Hamed,

Thank you for using our product.  Could you check the following?

    1. Monitor VIN pin to GND voltage and see if you see large ripple voltage or oscillation there?

    2. Do you follow the PCB layout guidelines and the layout example presented in the datasheet to have adequate heatsinking through PCB?

    Best Regards,

    Youhao

  • Hi Youhao,

    Thanks for your reply.

1- I've checked, and there are no unusual ripples.
2- Yes, I designed it based on the datasheet and related documents. Additionally, I have another LDO alongside this DC-DC.

    Thanks

  • Hi Mamed,

Temperature rise depends on how you cool down the module.  Layout plays a big role here.  Could you let me know your pcb layout?

    Thanks,

    Youhao
