TPS62860: TPS628600 , EN pin is open drain or not? I see in functional block diagram a open drain mosfet

In TPS628600 datasheet I see the open drain mosfet at enable pin. but in description its not mentioned as open drain. so is it fine to connect external pull up or not. please clarify on this

Hi,

Yes, EN is an open drain config.

You could add an external pull-up. But it is not necessary. What value of resistor do you plan to use?

We pulled it through 4.7k to 5V. 5V is always enabled. My requirement is that output should be LOW until I enable it (Enable=HIGH) by the SW. So that output will be enabled. What happens until our SW enables it?

Do you have a schematic & timing diagram?

Do you enable using an SW signal? I did not understand.

Hi,

In my schematics the EN pin of TPS628600 is connected to pullup and also connected to programmer. my question here is,

1. is it pullup is must required because it is open drain?

2. only connecting to programmer is fine and I can control this EN by programmer?

1. No. It is not necessary.

2. Yes, you may connect directly to EN programmer.
