LM25180: Can I add capacitor between sw pin to gnd pin for emi improving?

Hi Ti,

As title, we found that add capacitor between sw pin to gnd pin can improve emi.

We hope can put 1nF for more margin.

Except efficiency and thermal become worse, what else risk should be know?

    Hi,

    Thank you posting. I would not recommend it because the capacitor would dump its charge to the IC and increase the IC power dissipation.  IN order to improve EMI, please adjust your RC snubber between the SW and input line. It will have a similar effects but removes the heat from the IC.
